What’s New at the Museum

Introducing the newly designed Cheney afghan to celebrate the 125th anniversary of incorporation. The afghan depicts aspects of Cheney’s history and life.  Some buildings, such as the National Bank of Cheney at the center and the original Cheney Academy no longer exist . Others, such as the High School, electric train depot. and the Christian Church are used for other purposes today. We honor Benjamin P. Cheney, our namesake, along with the wheat farming and cattle ranching which have always been a part of our area’s livelihood.

The woven afghan measures 48 inches by 68 inches. It is made in South Carolina of 100% machine washable cotton. Two shades of blue make the images on a soft white background.  The price remains the same as the old afghan, $50 which includes tax.

The re-useable tote bag is becoming a popular earth-friendly accessory. Now you can help the environment and show your support for the Cheney Historical Museum.  Our new two—tone canvas tote bag is imprinted with “Cheney Historical Museum, 614 Third Street, www.cheneymuseum.org” in white on a black background. The bags come in red & black or blue & black and measure 15 1/4”w x 15 1/2” h x 5” d. The tote bags are available from the museum store for $15, tax included.
