Be a Part of History

Your support and time are vital to our ongoing efforts to collect and preserve our local history, and educate the community about our heritage. The museum receives no outside funding, we operate entirely through your memberships and donations. We are a 501c(3) non-profit organization. Donations & memberships are tax deductible. There are several ways you can help.

Your annual membership helps us keep our history alive. Join at $25 or higher and receive our Friends of the Museum newsletter and be invited to our Pre-Opening Party.  Help us grow and shape the museum for the future. There is a level right for you:

If you have some time to share, we have some great opportunities for you to work and learn with some wonderful people.

Can you spare a couple hours during the summer? We need volunteers to greet visitors and staff the museum during our open hours May through September. No special skills are needed. Training and support is provided.

Are you a handy-person? We need help building stands, supports, display frames, help with painting, and with electrical projects.

Web and technology savvy? Help us to reach out to the computer and internet generations.

Teaching or recreation skills? Help us develop programs and activities for the children who tour the museum.

Design or display skills? Help us improve the look and story-telling of our exhibits.

Promotion & marketing skills? Help us to build awareness and participation in the museum.

Grant writing experience? We need your knowledge and skills to help us fund projects and improvements in the museum.

Are you a student of history, journalism, education, computer science, electronic media, multimedia design, business, music, or art?  You can get real world experience for your resume while helping the museum to grow and improve.

Want to be a history detective? We need people to delve into the past doing research on artifacts, photographs, people, places, and events to help us build a more complete story of our past.
