Cheney 200th Birth Anniversary

Two hundred years ago today in 1815, Benjamin Pierce Cheney, our town’s namesake, was born in New Hampshire. He was a director of the Northern Pacific Railway Company when the northern transcontinental line was routed here. Mr. Cheney visited our town only once in 1883. He died in Boston in 1895.
