In 1935, farmers and lake residents built an electric line to the Fish Lake district. Their goal was to light all resorts on the lake, as well as having a reserve of power for pumping purposes on the 22 farms and lake residences.

Looking Back: Buster Showalter
In 1935, friends and family taped dimes onto postcards and sent them as a birthday surprise to Buster Showalter who was taking treatment for polio at Warm Springs, Georgia. The Warms Springs center was founded by President Franklin Roosevelt.
